The West Village has a new spot for nonstandard morning sandwiches. Edith’s Sandwich Counter, originally from Williamsburg, has breakfast sandwiches on malawach, a flaky, Yemeni flatbread that’s popular in Israel (they’re available all day). You can get them all day, along with things like latke, egg, and cheese, chicken schnitzel clubs on challah bread, and a few variations of pastrami sandwiches.
